The Turracher Höhe is a high-altitude plateau located in the heart of the Nockberge mountains and in its center stretches the beautiful Lake Turrach.
Moving freely around on slopes, surrounding this idyllic mountain lake, by cableways and lifts poses an irresistible challenge for skiers, carvers and snowboarders.
One of the highlights of the resort is known as the „Nocky Mountains© Runde 2,205 m“, a tour famous for its high-altitude skiing at up to 2,205 m above sea level. The 12 cableways, lifts and 33 kilometers of skiing slopes delight passionate and athletic sports enthusiasts as well as more easy-going pleasure-seeking skiers alike. The delights of this skiing area encompass a combination of its high-altitude location, the extensive and unobstructed downhill runs, the high certainty of excellent snow conditions, a comprehensive snow-making capability on all slopes (that’s why the season starts so early!) and the compactness of the area. With one of the country’s longest ski seasons, most dependable snow depths, high ski elevations and friendliest staff, visitors from the first timer to the seasoned pro will be impressed. Another thing what makes Turrach so special are its gentle groomed cross-country trails that wind through the beautiful Lakes Basin, steep chutes, secluded tree runs and plenty of Austrian sunshine.
The pleasures of skiing on the Turracher Höhe extend far beyond the slopes and lifts. In fact, the major attraction is the Turrach slope butler, who roams around the skiing area with his Mercedes look a like Skidoo and who serves to the local visitors. Free loungers at the most beautiful spots in the skiing area, the lounge as a pleasant ‘common room’ and a non-stop series of other service ideas all contribute to the delights of the Turracher Höhe. Even being well-known as an outstanding Alpine skiing area, the Turracher Höhe is also a little paradise for cross-country skiing, a centre of winter and snowshoe hiking and offers an ideal ice-skating rink and is a meeting place for nighttime tobogganing – not to mention a superb starting point for off-piste skiing tours. Along with fabulous skiing, Turrach’s host of activities enhances everyone’s winter experience. After a day of skiing, relax during a romantic candlelit dinner for two or take the whole group out to one of the local pizza parlors.
The dream of spending your holiday in your own Alpine hut and the desire to experience outstanding hotels all come true on the Turracher Höhe. The many Alpine huts, holiday apartments, enormously friendly inns and caring boarding houses together, of course, with Turrach’s famous top hotels await you here at 1,800 m above sea level.
